This image I took of the stars overhead reminds me of the deep mystery of space. As a cloud of dust or gas, a Nebula appears as a dark silhouette, obscuring the luminous stars behind it.

Program Notes

Composed for the Rice Composers Orchestra, Nebula is cast in a single movement. The work explores rich harmonies and a persistent melodic figure.
